ASIC - Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) is a computer with one dedicated purpose. In bitcoin mining each machine is an ASIC with one purpose, to mine bitcoin. The miner has no other purpose and cannot be used for anything other than mining bitcoin.
ASMD - Actual Start Mining Date is the date which your miner actually went online.
Hashrate - A unit of measurement for how quickly a miner can calculate hashes. The higher the hash rate the more bitcoin a unit will mine. Higher hashrate also means more power consumption. You may find more bitcoin but also be paying more in electricity. It's important to consider this ratio when picking a unit.
Hosting Fee - The monthly bill associated with your mining hardware. Hosting fee accounts for power usage, and includes all the added features of being a Compass Mining customer.
Invoice ID - Each bill you pay with Compass Mining, hosting or hardware is assigned a Invoice ID. This information is helpful when communicating with our support staff so we can properly communicate with one another.
Manufacturer Warranty - The serial number will determine your warranty expiration date. Any unit that has warranty remaining with the manufacturer can be shipped to be repaired. If the unit is outside of warranty then the customer is responsible for covering additional repair costs.
Miner Efficiency - This is the ratio between Hashrate and Power consumption. The most efficient miner will have a high hashrate and low power consumption. It's important to consider this ratio when picking a unit.
Miner ID - This is a unique identifier is used to identify a miner purchase for a customer. This information is helpful when communicating with our support staff so we can properly communicate with one another.
Mining Pool - A mining pool is necessary to begin mining bitcoin or crypto. You must create a mining pool account and share it with us so that we can configure your hardware to your account.
Online Date (Estimated) - This is the estimated date that your miner will go online and begin hashing to your mining pool account. For more information visit Mining pool configuration.
Reservation ID - A Reservation ID is a unique string of characters that links to your hardware purchase. This is helpful when identifying which hardware order you have questions on in tickets. This can be found on the compass dashboard.
Serial Number - This unique code is used to track the manufacturer warranty for your unit. You can check warranty status by visiting the manufacturers website.
Worker Name(s) - Worker names are necessary when configuring your miner. Miners are known as workers and are assigned a name when configured. The worker is then directed to your mining pool account and can be seen on your dashboard and mining pool. These typically are a series of numbers separated by x's (Example 23x125x889)
