At Compass Mining, we are dedicated to providing the best service to our valued customers. However, your miner may sometimes go offline for extended periods due to facility relocations or electrical outages. To help customers maximize uptime during these events, we are offering the Miner Swaps feature. This feature allows customers to swap their offline unit for a similar actively hashing unit at another Compass Mining facility.

How does a miner swap work?
Our new swap program allows our customers to exchange their offline unit affected by relocation or facility outage for a similar unit currently hashing at another Compass Mining facility. As part of the miner swap, the customer relinquishes ownership of their current offline unit and becomes the sole owner of the actively hashing unit offered to them. In most cases, the swap unit will match the specifications of the current unit.
Why am I being offered a miner swap?
The miner swap feature aims to help customers minimize downtime caused by relocations, facility outages, or other challenges. If your miner is facing an issue, you may be allowed to swap it for another actively hashing miner.
How much does a miner swap cost?
Customers will be informed of the miner swap cost when it is offered. The cost may vary depending on the miner model, health, efficiency, and reason for swapping. In some cases, there may be no cost associated with the miner swap.
Will the miner swap affect my hosting fees?
Hosting fees vary based on your miner’s power consumption and the facility where it is located, therefore, miner swaps can affect your hosting fees. Be sure to review the miner swap details before proceeding.
How long does a miner swap take?
The swap will be completed in about one week after the customer approves the miner swap. However, any pending swap invoice must be settled before the request can be completed.
Does the miner swap impact my contract length or end date?
The miner swap only changes the ASIC serial number linked to your minerID and does not impact your contract length or end date.
Will my four-letter miner identifier (minerID) change after the swap?
No, the minerID will stay the same, but the ASIC serial number linked to it will be updated during the miner swap.
