Currently, our hardware comes with a manufacturer’s warranty. Most new miners have a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty which begins on the manufacturing date. You will obtain your serial number once your unit is online and hashing to your account.
We advise our customers to read the terms of the warranty that the manufacturers provide (Bitmain, MicroBT, and Canaan). If a machine needs to be repaired, Compass will help facilitate the process. The manufacturer warranty usually covers any repairs the miner will need except shipping. After the warranty has ended, all repair costs need to be paid by the machine owner.
You can purchase additional insurance from a 3rd party. You would need to set this up on your own, and then have the 3rd party reach out to us. Each individual device is not insured, but you can take out a policy to insure them.
"What if my miner gets stolen?"
In the case of theft, Compass would follow appropriate steps with law enforcement but insurance is the responsibility of each Compass Miner.
We plan on providing additional insurance coverage through Compass in the near future, but currently, it is not available.
